Lori Bell has been described as Miami’s “foremost doyenne of alternative healing” and the city’s “go-to guru” for integrative health; at The Standard Spa – where Lori practices her unique combination of astrology, traditional Chinese medicine, and tenets of Tibetan Buddhism – she’s affectionately known as their resident “Good Witch”. She is sought after for her transformative, whole health approach with acupuncture, NSEV healing (a type of acupuncture related to emotional and spiritual healing), astrology readings, cupping, B-12 shots, herbal medicine and more, applied to a constellation of issues and aspirations.

Professional Studies & Experience
Lori has been working in Oriental Medicine for over 25 years. She is a Florida State Licensed Acupuncture Physician, Diplomat NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine), and a Non-Somatic Extraordinary Vessels (NSEV) practitioner.
Lori graduated from the Community School of Traditional Chinese Healthcare in 1993 and interned with Daniel J. Atchison-Nevel. She worked extensively with the HIV/AIDS community in the mid-1990s, gaining advanced training in treating HIV at the Quan Yin Institute, taught by Misha Cohen. Lori also volunteered with The Global Acupuncture Project in Uganda. There, she trained local healthcare workers using simple and effective acupuncture techniques to treat the symptoms of HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and other debilitating diseases.
As the resident acupuncturist for the Integrative Wellness Program at The Standard Hotel and Spa in Miami, Lori is gratified by the impact she has on resort guests and members. Additionally, she helps treat infertility via acupuncture at the top IFV centers in South Florida, and provides acupuncture and Oriental Medicine consultations to the corporate sector, non-profits, and private clients.
A student of astrology since age twelve, Lori is a credentialed master astrologer who translates cosmic symbols into everyday wisdom that is both transcendent and actionable in her readings. She publishes a must-read monthly horoscope for The Standard Hotels. She collaborated with The Standard Hotels to create Planet Standard, an astrology card deck using hotel images, written by Lori.
She has studied with internationally renowned practitioners that include Brenda Brush, Steven Forrest, Deborah Holding, and Lee Lehman. She is a master astrologer in the Steven Forrest Apprentice Program, and a horary practitioner certified by the School of Traditional Astrology. Lori continues her education as a student in the Medical Horary Astrology certification program with Lee Lehman.
